Are you up for some Tafree?

One good thing about Connaught place is that it never disappoints. So this time when we were dying of hunger after a long day at work, we spotted this fairly recent kid (do mahine only) on the block – The Tafree Café!

Tafree Cafe in F- Block  is a stunner of a place!

While there were many options all over each other, we have to say we chose this one merely on its name first; tafree; which is a Hindi word for joblessness, was enough to excite us venture into this terrace café.

Since we had gone at a late hour, the lights were a bit dim, but you could still see the décor vividly. There are big comfy couches to lean and relax over, (yummy but yes, a bit overpriced food) and some good music in the background to lull you into a zestful spirit. Hungry as always, we ordered what our attendant told us to be a must-try – Crispy Palak Ki Chaat, Vegetable Kathi Wrap and some Veg Fried noodles.

The Crispy Palak Ki Chaat is a must try here!

The food took some ten minutes that gave us time to look around. The graffiti on the wall said tafree before which sat a large group of youth, living up to the word; drenched in the mood to have some merriment. Have to say, their energy was infectious and rippled to us too! Quirky quotes framed on the walls left a smile on the lips, while the playlist was a delight to the ears.

The Kathi Wraps melt in the mouth within seconds!

Okay, food on the table and have to say it was simply yum! The Crispy Palak Ki Chaat is overpriced for 7-8 fried leaves sprinkled with chutney but it tasted great; the Kathi Wrap was to die for – simple reason being it melted in the mouth and didn’t feel like the veggies were covered in any bread at all, but the fried noodles came out to be quite average. An ongoing offer of 20% off on the bill worked as our dessert and we strutted out happily ever after. 😀
