Itni garmi thi that we really didn’t want to eat pet bhar ke as we shopped on that sweltering Saturday afternoon in GK M block market. But hungry as we were, we looked for options. Most recommendations on the food app were of cafés that served specific cuisines, but we craved for something else; probably a place where we could grab something quick AND healthy. So, awesome possum, we find this cute little café right in the middle of the market – Getafix Café!
The name might remind you of the druid from Asterix comics but for us it was more like get-a-fix! We climbed on to the first floor to face the café of our healthy dreams.
Neatly designed to accommodate many, this café is painted in colours that soothe the eye, with big window that fills the cafe with ample natural light. For a Saturday afternoon when the sun was aimed to burn, the café was full house with collegiate working on assignments, young corporates making presentations, cute love birds and expats catching up- a good mix!
Parched in the sun, we quickly ordered the staff-recommended — Odd One Out Smoothie (red apple, raspberries, blueberries and in-house yogurt) and Pink of Health (pear, strawberries, orange and ginger) juice; along with the chef special bowl meal – rice with homemade stock sauce and grilled vegetables.
While it did take ten minutes but the sweet fruit for that wait for ecstatically divine- and we are not exaggerating (mummy swear)! The smoothie was so fresh that we could literally feel the coarseness of the strawberries while the juice was probably from home-grown produce!
And the bowl meal – man! The cottage cheese was home-made and it melted in the mouth; imagine! One of us drooled on the stock while the other on the gooeyness of the selected grilled vegetables. We didn’t even care to serve but leapt on the bowl itself (still slurping by the way).
Happily fed, stepping out we read their tag line- Guilt Free Indulgence, and trust us, we couldn’t agree more!
